Devín Castle is one of the most important archaeological sites in Central Europe. Situated on the banks of the Danube, where the Danube and Amber Roads once crossed, it watches over the confluence of the Danube and Morava rivers.
A single-sided triangular sail was erected by SunSquare for these historic walls. The SunSquare installation blends seamlessly into the overall picture and emphasises the adaptability and elegance of the simple design. The installation shows how modern design and historical architecture can be harmoniously combined to fulfil both aesthetic and functional requirements. The shadesail not only provides optimum protection from the sun and weather, but also gives the historic site a modern accent that further emphasises its uniqueness.
